Embryo transplant services

Transferring techniques consist of collecting embryos and selecting high genetic potential transplants for the uterus to receive.  The center ensures that quality recipients are always available.

Why use embryo transplant services?  Some mares have infertility problems due to an accident or an injury that caused interine tissue damage. We effect transplantation of embryos to those mares since they are unable to carry to term but have excellent breeding potential.  Also, it is possible for high potential mares to continue their activities while a designated recipient mare bear her foal.

Frozen embryos

Freezing embryos permits to optimize the reproduction potential of the same brood mare and offers the possibility to inseminate recipient mares early during the reproduction season.

Embryo micromanipulation

With constant interaction with  the researchers studying embryo tranfer and equine reproduction, Trans-Bio has successfully tested new approaches, such as sexing  equine embryo, developped in 1998.

Embryo shipping

With regards to the standards, we offer services of freezing or transport of the semen.  We are members of the International Embryo Transfer Association and Canadian Embryo transfer Association.  Our laboratories are also accredited for the export of equestrian semen by l'Agence Canadienne d'Inspection et de santé des animaux. To date we have exported more than 3500 embryos of various species in about thirty countries.
